(Branding You Better!) has built a reputation for developing award-winning, innovative, brand visibility design, quality print marketing and creative, functionally sound web solutions throughout the United States and abroad. SNDI designs for creative entrepreneurs, small businesses, start-ups, and international corporations.
Susan Newman is a graduate of The School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Graphic Design and Illustration. She has a certificate in web design from New School University.
In her early career, she worked as an art director and graphic designer for various book publishing companies in New York City including Penguin and Macmillan. She has designed hundreds of book covers in most genres. Her book design work is represented in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.
Susan has received numerous awards in graphic and website design from organizations and publications including the Art Directors Club of New York, Desi, Graphis, the Print Regional Design Annual, The Society of Illustrators, and Graphic Design USA.
Susan’s one-on-one creative coaching, Visual Broadcasting™, is for start-ups, solopreneurs and companies wanting to rebrand and build a new visual footprint. Sessions include: zeroing in on your exact target audience, branding and creative conceptualization, print marketing, social media and marketing strategy plans.
Susan founded Broadcast Louder, a webinar series for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Susan is an entrepreneur, brand visibility and visual footprint strategist on a mission to help other creatives and entrepreneurs be as skilled in developing their brand, learning to market and promote their businesses, as they are in creating and developing their products and services. She hosts and celebrates the guest speakers who join in for the “Creativity + Abundance” webinar series, and together they share the most important aspects of running a business, from branding and building the right type of website and e-commerce, to knowing how to sell effectively and build a fan base in social media.
Susan most recently spoke at NAWBO Pittsburgh and Hob’Art, a co-operative gallery on “Brand Visibility and Consistency” and she is preparing a series of brand visibility classes for the members of the Hudson County Coalition. Susan will also be a panelist at uPublishU at the BookExpo in NY. Susan led a panel discussion “Brand Recognition vs Killer Content” at Internet Week NY 2012, having won the “impact” category of the Make the Stage Panel competition. In 2011 at Savor the Success’s Rock the World in NYC, she was an expert on a social media panel. She has been interviewed in print and on the radio about branding, marketing, design, Frogs Are Green and Broadcast Louder’s webinar series. She is a guest blogger for the New York Etsy Group, Circle Marketing, YourTango, and Social Buzz Club.
Speaking engagements for 2013 include: NAWBO Pittsburg (3/22/13); Panel expert at BookExpo-Javits Center (uPublishU) (6/2/13); Class series on Brand Visibility in Hudson County, NJ.
Susan co-founded FROGS ARE GREEN LLC, to increase awareness about the massive worldwide amphibian decline (up to one-third of species are threatened with extinction). Because frogs are an indicator species of a healthy environment, she hopes to spread the message that healthy frogs mean a healthy planet for all.
Susan has always been attracted to organizations and green initiatives that will help the planet. She has donated her design work to a variety of organizations, including the Hoboken 9/11 Memorial Committee, Hoboken Jubilee Center for Children, Central Avenue Special Improvement District (Jersey City Heights), Actors Shakespeare Company at New Jersey City University, Hudson Theatre Ensemble, Chameleon Theatre Company Ltd, Planet Cents, Eco Libris, Susan G. Komen for the Cure (Central and South Jersey), and Project SOAR.
Thanking Andrea Rosenfeld for helping get things started on 10/11/11.
Andrea Rosenfeld, Fine Artist and Jewelry Designer
No artist can predict where her passion for creation will take her.
Artist Andrea Rosenfeld’s exciting journey has been evolutionary and filled with exploration: from a University of Michigan, School of Art and Design student to Fashion Institute of Technology, Fashion Design student to Perry Ellis Portfolio Menswear Assistant Merchandiser, to Isaac Mizrahi Ltd. Director of Merchandising and Operations, and finally to creating and owning her own jewelry line. Woven throughout was the non-stop creating, gallery and museum show while taking the time to teach others to fulfill their artistic goals.
Skilled in fine arts, handcrafts and jewelry design — Rosenfeld makes use of a combination of techniques and eco-friendly, natural materials while placing emphasis on texture, movement, negative space and playfulness as a main force in her creations. Andrea’s healing jewelry sells in galleries, boutiques and spas and she’s been honored with incredible press including WWD, JCK, Chicago Sun Times, National Jeweler, MJSA Journal, JQ International, IN Jersey and more.
As a Mentor to other Artists, Andrea is able to give of herself and her experiences, helping them to grow their art business based upon their particular goals and passions. Her company, Open Studio ~ Creative Mentoring offers Visiting Creative Authors as well as an abundance of resources, one-on-one sessions and group sessions for her Creatives to network and learn. Her clients are jewelry artists, woodworkers, glass blowers and gallery owners, amongst others.
Donating her jewelry and proceeds to various charities, and volunteering as a Chairperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation of Central and Southern NJ is imperative to her. In this way she can continue to give to others and honor her Mother Sheila, a two-time cancer survivor.
I want to thank my first special guest who helped get things started on 10/11/11

Testimonials for Susan Newman
“Susan has helped me take my business and expertise to the next level. She created my ideal website by easily translating my vision into something real and tangible. What I didn’t know at the time I hired her, was how much she knew about SEO and that alone has increased the amount of opt-ins I get. Customers can now find me! Susan also designed my book cover and it has gotten tons of compliments. Susan has many strengths but the thing that stands out the most to me is how extraordinary she is at customer service. She responds and will work tirelessly until things are right. Run, don’t walk, to hire Susan!”

“Working with Susan on my visual broadcasting was like having a trusted friend, with a TON of design and marketing expertise, walk me through each step of my business’s image and marketing plan. I was overwhelmed and exhausted when I came to her. From finding the most compelling name for my service, and how to visually organize it on my website, to how to market it to attract clients, I was confused. Susan helped me find solutions to each of these pieces in a caring, step-by-step, and straightforward way. With her guidance and by following her plan, I now know how I want to present myself and what strategies I’ll use to get the word out. Susan not only helped me create my visual identity, she helped me wade through the marketing options to find what is best for my business, and we created a plan to achieve greater visibility and attract more clients. I am amazed by how many pieces of my business Susan was able to knowledgeably advise me on. I was feeling overwhelmed in my business when I began working with Susan, but with the plan we created, I now feel excited and energized.”

“As a copywriter and marketer I was especially impressed with the visual broadcasting process. It is so well thought out and thorough that Susan and I were able to take my branding to a whole new level. Visually, we developed a strong color palette by expanding upon my company colors and created a strategic plan for building my website and creating my other marketing materials. Susan showed me how each marketing decision would impact on design and vice versa. Working with a designer who really “gets” strategic integration of message and visuals was actually exhilarating. Susan proved a true collaborator. She is a joy to work with and her ability to explain it all in ‘English’ is refreshing.”
